Humans are Nuclear Reactors

We are all dying from radiation fallout.

This came to me as I was trying to snooze off the final, malingering bits of the flu bug- very untimely in view of Covid-19 (of course, it gave us the scare).

Back to the radiation.

My phone pings a reminder — a birthday. I have already seen enough cake sales with ‘learn more’ call buttons to know that it will be remiss to fail to provide said cake. While figuring how much I want to do about this birthday, my phone pinged with yet another message that was both information and thereby burden. Yes, they always come attached with a lump of ‘what do i do now?’, reply the information, or the emotion? Meanwhile of course, there’s the multiple work folders still open with files in various states of disarray and disorder, because persons have not communicated, confirmed or decided on matters small and big.

Doing life well is so much about great relationships. But re-la-tion-ships is so much work, if we are serious about any of it.

We have to listen, empathise, connect, assist, be patient, shape our words and our movements, hold back and even — yes — sacrifice.

Every.single.one. of these relationships, some taking and giving more than others.

Live in the city they say. Get online they say. Don’t miss out they say.
